Westchester county real estate

Westchester County is home of the rich and famous and some not so famous. It is located a few short miles from north of New York City. It is part of the New York Metropolitan Area. Westchester is the second wealthiest county in the state of New York and twelfth wealthiest county in the U.S. Westchester County boasts a beautiful landscape, with beautiful green rolling hills, tree lined streets with very large homes, estates, some mansions, modern farms and ranches. Thus http://www.westchester-ny-real-estate.com is rather pricey. It is surprise how quickly you are in beautiful a rural area when you are so close to the hustle of New York city

The county has nineteen towns. Any of the land areas in Westchester County that is not contained in one of its cities is a town. A town may contain zero, one or many villages. Excluding the towns of Rye, Pelham, Harrison, Mount Kisco, and Scarsdale, all the other fourteen towns contain area and residents which do not belong to any village. These areas may contain communities referred to as hamlets, or unincorporated areas. Hamlets have no legal status and depend upon the town for all municipal government and services.

To alleviate confusion it is best to indicate whether one is referring to the city, town, village, or hamlet, because some municipalities have the same name. An example of this is, the town of Rye is totally separate from the city of Rye. Pelham is the name of a town and also of a village in the town. The village of Mamaroneck NY is located in both in Mamaroneck and partially in the town of Rye, but not the city of Rye.
